Precious

The movie is actually a very positive film about how to get through these trials of life. You have never touched, but they really exist. Precious is the name of the protagonist, a teenage girl, who is fat and ugly and often be humiliated. But she never give herself up. She is pregnant for the second time to her own father, her mother is an unstable and has bad temper, and maltreats her everyday. Precious is unable to read and write, even though she is going to the eighth grade. Because she gets pregnant again, she was kicked out by the school. After leaving school, she is invited to a special learning school where the classroom is small; nevertheless, she will be able to learn in a better environment. This is such a depressing movie. After seeing this movie, I saw the darkness, suffering and powerlessness of life. On the other hand, you will feel good about yourself, and with a positive outlook on your own life.

The Terminal

The moive is about Viktor Navorski an Eastern European goes to visit New York. When he arrives the airport, a war causes his nation to no longer exist. His passport becomes invalid, and documents are useless. Thus he gets stuck at the airport in New York. While stuck, Viktor sees more of America than he has ever imagined. Throughout the experience he makes friends, a love interest, and a rival. He changes all of their lives, however he constantly has trouble with airport supervisor. After six monthes, Viktor’s country’s war stops, his passport becomes effective. Eventually, he can enter into New York. Tom Hanks performs so well, the cast is excellent with Hanks making all those better.

Reading Strategy

There are varieties of reading strategies, I prefer the mind mapping. It is using a picture or an image of a literary text. When we are reading, we can use the pictures, symbols, shapes, colors, and line styles to understand the main points or the traits of each character. You can create an image picture in your mind from the book, during and after reading. The picture is evoked by descriptive details. This method could support your comprehension of the text book. These pictures came into your mind as you read this paragraph and selection.

And the other strategy is the Author’s viewpoint. The literature is written by the way which the author’s opinions or ideas. This includes the content of the text and the language used to present the data. We can try to decipher an author’s point of view, opinions, hypotheses, assumptions, and possible bias, in order to identify the validity of information contained in the text.
Through good reading strategies, we will analyze the text easily

Funeral Ceremony

The second stage is also called the funeral ceremony. The pastor presides over the ceremony . Christianity without taboos. Attendees at a funeral wear formal clothing, such as a suit and tie for men or a dress for women. The most traditional color is black.Atmosphere is not so sad, there are no loud tears. They believe that they will see the deceased again in the heaven.

Funeral Ceremony for the close relatives or friends can be a very nice way of saying your final farewell. The Funeral may take place at either a funeral home or church.
At the beginning, Leads by the pastor to read the religious texts, it may include prayers, or songs to remember the deceased.The eulogy is a very appropriate way of celebrating the deceased 's life. A relative or close friend will be asked to give a eulogy, which is a short talk of happy memories and accomplishments. It may be sad, or warm. Of course, it can also be humorous. At the visitation the body of the deceased is placed on display in the casket . Finally, go to the cemetery

For most Christians, death is not a taboo subject, and they believe that God makes meaningful arrangements . Dying is one of the events in life certain to occur. The meaning of the funeral is to remember the deceased, comfort the families and friends, and bring consolations and hope.

Stinking Tofu

Stinking tofu, a well-know Taiwanese snack, is made of fermented tofu. Although Stinking tofu smells stench, but it tastes delicious. The most familiar kind is deep-fried stinking tofu. We can eat stinking tofu in the night market, as well as the specialty shop. There are many ways to cook the stinking tofu. Such as steamed stinking tofu, spicy stinking tofu, braised stinking tofu with vegetables, fried stinking tofu with seafood , and roast stinking tofu. In Taiwanese custom, We eat it either alone or mixed with soup or fried. When we eat deep-fried stinking tofu, we usually eat with kimchi. My favorite one is spicy stinking tofu which contains a lot of mushrooms, shrimps, grinded meat, red pepper and garlic. I really like this typical of snack.

Dear John

John dropped out of school and enlisted in the Army, One time, during his vacation go back home, he meets the girl, Savannah. They are attracted by each other. Immediately, they fall in love. After two weeks they be together, John has to go back to the force. Savannah is waiting for John to finish his tour of duty, and she completes her college education. Their relationship is put on hold, they pass the time by exchanging a continuous letters. But 9/11 changes everything. John thinks that is his duty to postpone. Therefore, their separation is extended indefinitely. After several monthes, the long separation, Savannah gets married with someone else.

Tokyo backpacking

I went to Japan Tokyo backpacking with my friends for five days,
We took airplane for 4 hours. when we arrived there, we take Metro to our hotel.
Our hotel is very close to the Metro station, that is really convenient.
Transportation cost and board and lodging cost is higher than Taiwan.
The first impression of the destination is the budlings are grand and advanced
First day, we went to several tourist attractions like Disney land which is a huge park with several different major part and interesting shows. We spent all day playing in the Disney land, It was really fun.
Then we went to Tokyo Tower , to see the view.
Second day, we went to Tokyo Budo Kan in Kokyo to watch the competition of Japanese Kendo.
In the evening, we went department store for shopping in Shibuya.
Next day, we went to some famous temple. And took a lot of pictures there.
The weather in Japan is cool and arid , and the public transportation in Tokyo is well develop, convenient and fast.
So taking the subway is the best transportation for the tourists in Tokyo.
The local life style is really convenient and speedy. I saw many kinds of vending machine on the road-side,
Like tabacco, drinks, sandwiches, sushi, and even flowers.
On the other hand, lining in a advanced city is equal pressure of it.
Tourism bring business, and it improve the country economic, nomatter in which country the tourism may bring pasative effects to the local and the environment.
Tokyo public transportation is very advanced. That is a very important point to improve the tourism.
Their commodity price is higher than Taiwan, their transportation cost board and lodging cost is very expensive.
Living in Tokyo is developed and convenient , but there is equal pressure of it.
