the Difference between Traditional Sport and Action Sport

In a traditional sporting event, athletes compete against each other under controlled situations. The traditional sporting judgment criteria may be adopted when assessing performance, such as distance, time, and score. For example, these are the traditional sports, volleyball, basketball, baseball, football, fencing, boxing, judo…etc. On the other hand, the action sport, we also called extreme sport and adventure sport, which is a popular term for some activities. An extreme sport is perceived as having a high level of inherent danger. These activities often involve speed, height, and skill. Extreme bike, mountain biking, skateboarding, In-Line-Skates, and climbing, these are common events in Taiwan. Because of the terrain and climate, some activities are held in the foreign counties, such as skiing, snowboarding, canoeing, ice climbing. In conclusion, traditional sports emphasize playing by the rules and competing with an opponent. But in the extreme sports. athletes are competing against old skills and surpassing themselves.
