Air pollution was created from human activities. People use machines relying on industrial processes, which produce waste products. 700 years ago in England, people burned coal which produced smoke and soot. There was a tax placed on their use, but the air pollution did not improve. King Charles asked a scholar to research the problem in London, but the Industrial Revolution was about to begin. Consequently, people ignored the research report. After several years, London has many kinds of disasters from air pollution. People who can be high danger with heart and lung problems live there.

In recent years, shopping on the internet has been gaining popularity. There are more and more people who choose shopping on the internet. It has becoming the mainstream of the shopping. Every year, the rapid rise of internet shopping brings more business opportunities.

Mercy or Mercilessness?
The main purpose of euthanasia is to end the patient’s pain which caused by disease. Euthanasia “from the Greek meaning "good death": eu (well or good) + thanatos (death) refers to the practice of ending a life in a manner which relieves pain and suffering. The euthanasia is divided into two kinds, voluntary and non-voluntary. Five years ago, my pet was in a serious disease. The veterinarian made a diagnosis of her disease which is a kind of the muscle tumor in the womb. She accepted the operation to excise the tumors. Less than two months, the tumor metastasized to other part. The situation became worse and worse. The veterinarian recommended us to take the euthanasia. It was really hard to make the decision and watch her in pain. Finally, we decided to inject excessive sedative to end her pain.
In my opinion, it is more humanity. when patients are in a incurable disease and suffer from pain. By injection of lethal medicine or stop unnecessary medical behavior, to end the patient's life or suffering. The first case for euthanasia in Taiwan is Xiao-ming Wang who became a vegetable in a car accident. She was only seventeen years old. she lay in bed for nearly half a century. Her parents petitioned the government for legalize the euthanasia. Because they were anxious about that no one can take care of her after they passed away.

Wu-Lai Hot Spring
Recently, the weather is continual cold and wet, I went to Wu-Lai with my friends yesterday. We rode motorcycle to Wu-Lai, and had a hunch there.
There are a lot of snacks and interesting things in the old street of Wu-Lai. We went for a window shopping all the evening. After that, we decided to take a hot spring. It is a very popular tourist attraction there.
After taking a hot spring, I felt really relaxed and comfortable. It seemed released all the stress. I had a wonderful time.

the Erathquake
Nuclear power offer the energy needs to the human, and also a fatal weapon. It provides the clean energy, and it emits lower carbon dioxide. The nuclear power does not contribute to global warming like other energy sources.
On the other side, the disadvantages of the nuclear power are also massive. Leftovers from the energy production may pollute the environment. The radioactive waste is the result of global warming. It will make the situation worse.
Last month, the massive earthquake in Japan caused their Nuclear power plant collapsed. Even through the plant employs people try to control the situation. But the earthquake made the radiation pollution and cause havoc with the worldwide.

There are many things that we can do to kill the time, going to the night market is a popular way.
I go to the night market with my friends during the weekend. There are variety of local snacks and fashion clothes and bags. The most important thing is the prices are real bargain.

Drawbacks
We do not like to hear the drawbacks from other people, that does not mean that we do not realize that.
For example, shy of people, be unpunctual. I do not like people always find fault with others, maybe they can learn how to excuse for others. And learn the art of speech. Actually, when we conscious the faults, we would like to find them out by ourselves, not by others.
It is not easy to uproot the drawbacks, we could imitate someone as you can, and try to drop off your faults.

Raising a Dog
Raising a dog require a large investment of time. Dogs need to be taken for walks at least twice a day. They also need to be bathed, and they need love from their owners.
The pet ownership is a long term responsibility. It can be rewarding, it also needs a lot of time, money, energy and patience. Dogs are faithful and friendly.
On the other hand, they could accompany the owner and have time past. Who could resist such sweet living things?

Singing in the KTV
I like singing, I usually go to KTV with my friends. It is really pleasant.
We go to KTV to practice singing or enjoy songs, sometimes we go there to celebrate birthday, a party, or just to have fun. When we are in the KTV room, some are singing, some are eating, and others are chatting. In resent days, go to KTV is a kind of activity to relieve stress.
We can sing songs full of emotions, or scream out loud. I like to go to KTV very much, it is a nice way to kill time.

Exercise is very good recreation. It not only reduce our stress, but also relieve our tiredness.
For people who live in the big city, regular exercise can come to the result of losing weight. If you eat too much salt, sugar, and greasy food, it would bring the high risk of chronic diseases. However, in this day and age, people have no time to exercise.
We should work out at the gym or a park nearby after work. It is a useful way to relax myself, and the best way to stay healthy.

Caught a Cold
The weather is changing recently, and a lot of people catch a cold.
Last weekend, after I arrived home from school, I got a headache. I took a hot shower and went to bed very early. This morning when I woke up, I am having a sore throat and running nose.
Later on, I vomited and had a stomachache. I took a sick leave today. In the afternoon, I took some medicine and ate some food. I think I would be better after couple of days.

Serious Natural Disaster
Southern New Zealand was hit by a 7.1-magnitude temblor in September last year. This Tuesday, February 22nd. was hit by a series temblor again. But the earth quake struck shallower below ground from Christchurch. The death toll has risen to 102 reported in the Friday morning. And hundreds of aftershocks followed.
A lot of buildings crumbled into the streets, more people are feared dead, and the rescuers continue to find survivors. One of my friend and her family are living there. I contact her in the Tuesday morning. They are all right, but some areas are still power off and the telephone lines were.
This is the worse natural disaster in New zealand for 80 years. The national rescue crews have been dispatched from all over the world to help with rescue.

My Best Friend
No matter who you are, no matter where you be, no matter what you do. You always need friends. Elisa is my best friend. We have known each other for more than eight years.
Actually, we were colleges before seven years, we reported for duty at the same time in the same company. We were trained together, and worked in the same department. Since that, we became good friends. We usually go shopping or see movies after work. It was really a happy time. After 18 months, both of us resigned our commission. But we still keep in touch. Two yeas ago, I was looking for a job. Elisa commended me to her boss, and we became colleges again. I sometimes feel depressed, I will talk with her, and she will give me another idea to solve the problem. We also share happiness and girl’s stuff. When I need help, she will give me a hand right away. Last year, she passed the examination, and enroll Lunghwa University of Science and Technology. Sometimes we practice English in the free time.
There is an old saying that goes,”Books and friends should be few but good.” Having good friends is better than having a lot of friends.

Chinese New Year 2011
Chinese New Year also called Chinese Lunar New Year, which is the most important one of the traditional Chinese holidays. During these days, I could stay away from work and the boss. Actually, it is my favorite holiday.
There are six holidays of 2011 Chinese New Year, and the weather is extremely cold and rainy. I went back to Taoyuan before the first day of the month. When I arrived home, my sister in law was cleaning the house. I started to help her. We finished in the afternoon. We clean for a brand new atmosphere for the next year. Then, my mother, my brother and sister in law went to the wholesale store to buy some food and commodities. Approach to the evening, my sister in law prepared Chinese new year's eve dinner for us. In the evening, we enjoyed the dinner and see the DVD together. We always stay up late during the holidays, we would watch TV, play games, eat snacks and hot pot. In the morning of the first day, we went to a famous temple in Taoyuan, and pray to God to bless happy and healthy.

Reading Response: Grace
There are many books and movies which are about the child abuse or the domestic violence. It is often seen on the evening news. Child abuse is including the neglect of children, physical abuse, sexual abuse, psychological, and emotional mistreatment.
The book is about a sixteen-year-old girl, Grace, who has been sexual abuse by her stepfather, and ran away from home. She met Eric who helped her during the depression. Eric accommodated and accompanied her. Eric is a diffidence boy. After they met each other, he became brave and strong. He gave her all, everything seems perfect. One day, the police came to their cabin and led away Grace. Two days after, Grace was beat to death of her stepfather. The author not only describes the brotherhood but also the parent-child relationship.
I observed this book in a book store, and I borrowed it from the library after several months. It is a really attractive novel. Child abuse scars for ever. In the present society, how many social questions and family questions among us. We should focuse on this issue.
Taipei International Flora Exposition News
Taipei international flora exposition is the largest domestic event during these months. We could see the news on TV or newspaper almost everyday. There are four exposition area, Yuanshan Park Area, Fine Arts Park Area, Xinsheng Park Area, and Dajia Riverside Park Area. The most popular one is Xinshen Park Area.
There are varied shows and different kinds of flowers in the period. The organizer, Taipei City Government, and sponsors and are all concerned about the volume of the visitors. The organizer issues the visitor volume every day, the maximum day is in the January 3rd in Lunar. Because it was a sunny day, and was among the long holiday. There were over one hundred thousand visitors whe went to the Taipei international flora exposition in that day.
